    Hi,

I have a funny problem with my Kona 3. Sound playing through the OS(soundmanager), quicktime, or iTunes etc. sounds garbled and crackly. Sound through Final Cut Pro is fine. Any thoughts?

I’m monitoring through the unbalanced analog RCA audio outs on the K-box.

My system: FCS2 latest version, OSX last tiger version, 8 core mac pro, 8 gigs ram, ATI x1600 gfx card, Caldigit HDPRO 6TB raid5

    thanks in advance,

    Dave

I, personally, do not recommend outputting system sounds through your Kona as any volume change you make can effect volume input and outputs of Final Cut. AJA has taken steps to make sure that this doesn’t happen, but it still can if you don’t have it setup properly or you aren’t watching what’s happening. What you should do is run a cable out of your headphone jack of you mac and run that into your mixer or audio monitor device, whatever you have there in your studio. That way you can still monitor applications such DVDSP, iTunes through your nice audio monitors without tying up the Kona.
