    Hello everyone.

Right now all of the files created from our AVID are sent to one file. That is found by going to
    Local Disk(C:)>> Avid Media Files>> MXF>> 1

I’m looking for a better way to organize these folders than all the files being stored in this one folder so that I can choose which files to delete more easily.

It would be great if I could direct the media files from each seperate AVID project into corresponding media folders created for each project.

    Is this possible???

Thanks in advance for your help.

I can tell you are coming from FCP.

ZERO organization is done on the FINDER level (sorry, MAC talk…I don’t know the Windows term). It is all handled internally in the Avid. If you need to delete media…you do in in the project itself.

OR…you can choose what your main storage drive is when you capture…and then have multiple drives, one for each project. But do NOT, under any circumstances, change any folder names on the FINDER level.

And, don’t store media on your C: Drive…that’s your system drive.

Shane is correct, the Avid can only work with captured media located in this folder. This has to do with the media databases keeping track of the material, and the application only scanning these folders (1 set of folders per drive letter).

You can use the Media Tool to purge media on a per project basis. I recommend looking up the Using the Media Tool article in the MC Help.
