Sorry, that’s not available in Premiere Pro, though it’s a popular request. Kindly make a feature request and let our team know that you want this: https://www.adobe.com/go/wish

    Thanks Kevin,

I have been wondering about this too. I thought it was a setting I didn’t know how to adjust.

I went to the link you supplied and requested icon view to be in alpha/numeric order.

    Best Regards!

    hmmm….

    how about something like this….

If you switch to Icon view…

a right click could offer a context menu of:

    SORT BY:
    USE LIST VIEW SORT
    MANUAL STORYBOARD
ALPHA NUMERIC BY (LIST EXPOSED PANEL META COLUMN HEADINGS AS A ROLL OUT SUBMENU)
REVERSE ALPHA BY (LIST EXPOSED PANEL META COLUMN HEADINGS AS A ROLL OUT SUBMENU)

All should be available to switch between at any time.

I’d be happy to suggest this as a feature request if anyone thinks its worth my time…

That would be perfect. Right click was the first thing I tried actually.
