  Organising a long interview edit

  I’ve a 90min audio interview to cut down, I’m a video editor and I’m familiar with all the usual NLE’s and I’ve used various audio packages for tidying up my already cut audio sent from the NLE.

  But as this is purely an audio project I thought I would editing the whole thing in Adobe Audition, but I seem to have stumbled at the first hurdle!

  What I can’t figure out is how you would best organise the project? In my NLE I would sub clip the interview, then probably have a sequence for each topic discussed. I would then edit these sequences into a final master interview sequence (of which I might have multiple versions of as I kicked the whole thing around).

  I’ve been searching online for guidance, advice and case studies but most information is around mixing audio rather than working on the narrative structure.

  I wondered if anyone had any words of wisdom as how they might approach editing a long interview piece?
