when i studied editing in school years ago, i remember that there were steps to turning on the equipment that we HAD to fallow . I don’t exactly remember them by order but i guess it was something like: you turn on your deck first, then the monitor then the coputer monitors and then the computer itself!!!!
and i was wondering if there is still an order that should be taken to make sure that no harm happenes to the equipment
like I know also that you should never hook up the deck to the computer while its on

With current equipment, there’s no ‘harm’ that can come from turning your gear on in the wrong order. The only problem is you might lose communication with the decks and/or the drives won’t show up on your desktop.

Drives/RAID & Decks, then Mac and then anything else. That’s pretty much the order.

Do the opposite shutting down. Drives last.
