    Hi. I’ve been trying to resolve this for days. Watched Shane’s tutorial and can’t get beyond opening log and transfer. FCP lists clips but no thumbnails. Talked to canon tech for over an hour. He said that all was working from their end and must be an FCP problem. But this is a fresh install. I don’t think their plug in is working. At least not on my system. It should. I’m on OS 10,6,8. I’ve tried installing the plug in several times but it continues to say already installed. But not in the applications directory. And I’m downloading. 1,3,1. As instructed by canon. FCP is 7,0,3. I give up. There must be another way to convert so I can get into FCP. That isn’t too technical. I’m the director and shooter when necessary. Would never be able to take on the editors job. But I have to be able to prepare footage. Any ideas would be great appreciated. Thx. Karen

    As instructed by Shane’s tutorial, copying the complete card structure is essential for Log and Transfer to work correctly.

    What are your system specs? Model, RAM, HD, etc.

    If L&T doesn’t work, then you are left with options like Calibrated’s MXF Importer, or MXF4Mac. Or to use other NLE’s that interface with it better. FCP is old.

    yes, i did exactly as instructed and also tried xf utility to back up the card to a different drive….just to check…

    my system specs are as follows:

    ok, I will investigate these other avenues…..and yes, I know, but my editor is on fcp7 and doesn’t want to move to X at this time….so i’m stuck….i will look into these other products…at least there are options so i can get working….thanks so much…k
