  • Options for rendering tracking points.

    Hello everyone,

Let me first introduce the scene I am attempting, and the specifics of what it is I am trying to create. Basically, I am recreating a “Terminator-like” HUD display, a Terminator vision if you will. I have the scene 3D tracked with PfTrack, and the information has been imported into my C4D scene as a lightwave file. I now have a camera, a floor plane, and a scene containing all of the null points brought in from the tracking information. Ideally, I would like to render out those null scene points as they look in my viewport window. I haven’t the slightest clue how to go about this, if it is even possible. I attempted to create small cubes and attach them to the points, but I couldn’t figure that out either. I did manually relocate some cubes into the same origin points as some of the null objects, but the result was undesirable. I am really attempting to include as many real computer components as possible, including tracking points, the rotation widget thing, the floor plane, and wireframe models of some of the more basic shapes in the scene, in hopes of creating a very robotic look. Also, how do I render just a wireframe? Sorry for the length, hopefully I gave enough information as to receive some decent assistance. Thanks greatly.

A wire frame render is just a “cell render” this is an option in the effects tab of the render settings menu. Enable edges.

I cannot think of an automated way to render out your nulls.
I would model a look alike of it then with that selected use the transfer tool to place it on the nulls. this will have to be done manually.
    -Select object
    -Functions:transfer
-In attributes manager drag the null object into the link

So if anyone is interested I was able to get this working with the help of a friend. I turned everything off in the viewport window except for the nulls. Then I went into the preferences for the program and turned the viewport windows background to solid black (as to let me overlay the images over footage). Then it’s just a matter of changing the render settings to software render. The result was an entire black screen with only the null markers themselves visible.
