When in Edit to Tape mode, I often use the “option drag timecode” to tranfer the in point from the timeline to the videotape’s in point… when doing edits.

But now this no longer works… when I drag the timecode from the desired window, it does not copy correctly. It actually changes. In some cases as much as 36 secs and it seems to be somewhat random.

I’ve trashed prefereneces, etc. but nothing works.

All I can tell is that I’ve seen similar posts and, if I recall correctly, they all went unanswered. We do not know if it’s a bug or just a quirk of individual machines. Option-dragging is a subtle clipboard function so you could be getting clobbered by whatever was in the clipboard from a previous application or another function. Sorry, no clue.
But you should drop a note to Apple. The support>discussions>FCP area on apple.com has a feedback folder. State your case clearly, it seems to help.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
