Optical Lists with FCP 5…
Ok, here’s my situation. I received dailies from telecine on DVCAM (29.97fps). I create a database in Cinema Tools, import the ALE, export an XML Batch List and import that list into Final Cut for batch digitizing. I then reverse telecine that media using Cinema Tools, so the editor can work with the footage in 23.98 (24fps). However, the information included in the ALE (such as Camera Roll) gets lost in the reverse telecine. Is it possible to export an accurate optical list from Final Cut? How would I set this up? Do I need to create a new database with the reversed media? It doesn’t seem like it would work all that well and I will have to generate an optical list manually.
