Optical flow
Is there anyway to enable this in FCP itself or do you always have to send to motion and use the motion file in FCP?

Sending to motion and then saving the motion file and having it update in the Final Cut timeline is the workflow for getting optical flow retiming to work in Final Cut. It’s not integrated in Final Cut yet (soon I hope).
