Two questions (maybe related?) couldn’t find on existing posts

    1. Why do I always get ‘operation not allowed’ error messages when opening FCP? (I click OK and go on editing)

    and

    2. Why do clips ‘sent to’ motion or ‘open in editor’ in motion refuse to re-connect when I save the motion project and come back to FCP? I re-connect manually and than works fine, but in FCP1 it always connected automatically. In my FCP2 it never connects automatically.

    Your help is greatly appreciated

    1) i am not sure about that one. When does it happen?

    2) In FCS2, there’s a preference now to automatically connect with externally modified files.
It’s under the Final Cut Pro > User Prefrences > Editing tab, then check the box that says ‘Always Reconnect externally Modified Files’.

    1. every time I read in my project (also, when I go to compressor it does it)

    2. the ‘always reconnect externally modified files’ option was already checked.

    1) Still not sure. Trash Prefs, Delete render files and constant frames. Try again.

    2) Are you saving before you go back to FCP? If not, the project won’t update.

I think there is something going on between Apple and Adobe. Call this a conspiracy theory but if you replace all psd and jpeg files in the project with PNG. The problem is gone.
