Ok so someone creates a huge project using the correct formats for standard television. Then they also realize that they will also need to be create the same piece for high definition. Does one have to do the entire project over again from square one?. Keyframes, animtions, titles, effects, masks, the whole works, to have a finished piece to play on a flat panel high definition monitor?

    Scary thought

Work in the big HD comp, then scale down the render by dropping the comp into a smaller comp, or by scaling/stretching in the output module.

By the way, if you render fields, never scale in the output module.
