Opening a project and seeing the last media you had in your source monitor…
Please forgive me if I missed another forum post which answered this, as I’m terrible with searching forums (please just post a link for me):
In Premiere why, when I close out of a project then re-open it the next day, do I have nothing in the source monitor from my last save & close? …and, more importantly, is there a setting to force PP to remember the last thing I was sourcing from before quitting?
I’m working on a very hefty documentary with over 160 hours of interview footage & 50+ hours of b-roll. I don’t get to work on the Doc every day as I manage post on 3 AVID shows currently (this documentary is basically my test for Adobe’s workflow), so I may have to work on something else for a day or two before I can jump back into the Documentary project… only to realize I have NO idea which interview I left off on (and, yes, seriously, over 80 interviewees at nearly 2 hours a piece- sometimes I can’t get through an entire interview in one sitting). I have some basic work-arounds for this, but those are easily and often thwarted.
Is there a setting somewhere that I haven’t found that will allow a project file to save which media (and at what TC) was in the source window at close?

unfortunetely ppro does not remember last opened clips in source monitor if the project was closed. It only remembers recent clips opened in current session.
you can file a feature request.

Thanks for the info Nils.
I’m a little bummed that, for all of the really cool things PPro has to offer (especially in concert with the rest of the Adobe Suite & CC), I keep runing into little, basic things like this that suggest to me that the program is okay for the smaller projects, but not good enough for the next level yet.
Hopefully they’ll keep refining through CC.
