Opening a FCP Studio 2 file in FCP Studio 1
Hi… I am running FCP5 HD and have a project passed to me by another creative shop who built a sequence in Final Cut Studio 2.
When I try and open it, it says it cannot because it was created in a newer version. I called the person who built it and he sent me an XML file of the project, now it is asking me for a translation doccument… I am stuck on a hard time schedule… I dont want to re-build this from scratch! Any advice?

Ask them to give you an XML Version 1 and Version 2. You should be able to open one of those. Studio 2 goes all the way to XML Version 4. i don’t think you can open that.
