Posted by Victor Camacho guerrero on December 4, 2012 at 11:40 amHi Everybody,
I have created a EXR file from Cinema 4D with different channels.
When i import into AE, using the free plugin Extractor, nothing happens.
someone has any idea how to use it properly and getting all the different passes?

I think you are missing the OpenEXR_channel_map.txt file.
Read this on how to use EXR file :

December 5, 2012 at 11:15 amhi vishesh,
thanks a lot
I saw on one tutorial, that basically one guy could from the File menu has a new option that says ” open EXR in new composition” , without using new plugin from the effect panel.
Therefore the workflow was very quick. Using Extractor is really slow and tedious.
I read the whole documentation twice but I could get a clue how doing like this guy has it.
That texture, from where can i get and how do i install it?
Many thanks

You must have ProEXR plugin to create ProEXR Layer Comps.

August 28, 2017 at 8:36 pmHi, i have the same problen.
Now download everything from the official website but nowhere explains how to install ProEXR AE. I put it in the plugins (affects and format) and I do not see the option of channels or layers exp. I know that for a long time it’s free, but I can not install it successfully. I would appreciate anyone explaining to me in detail how to do it.
Greetings and thanks.
