Hi all — our graphic designer has put together rolling credits for our film in after effects. At frame top and bottom, she has the credits dissolve to 0 opacity. She outputs a quicktime animation with alpha. When I bring this into Media Composer (up to date version 8), it seems to be blending with black at the same time. In other words, the white text becomes a flat dark gray as it becomes transparent. Any ideas or advice?

Yes. ask for her to render this again and this time with straight alpha.

Or The Avid editor can import twice and pick the audio next time.

I see. that makes sense. I have seen Avid editors do this from time to time. let me ask you this: is this just for order’s sake? or when importing just the audio from a video file, Avid will take more time to import the audio part of that video than just an audio file? or create a large media file again from that file even though it just uses the audio?
