Only one sequence will not open but other 8 will
So we are working on a large project in x. All the editing has gone smooth, we have about 8 timelines in this one project. All of the sequences open up when you select them with no hesitation. The longest timeline, which is the most important one, jams on opening. We then have force quit to get program responding.
To troubleshoot it I closed out all programs except X. In X I closed all other project sequences when I click to play it in the Sequence Viewer it plays with out any issues. Only when we open to complete the edit works it will jam

Ouch.
My first thought is it is a corrupted media file, or render file. I would dupe the project without render files and then see if the dupe opens. If that doesn’t work, export the duped project as a FCPXML and reimport (note you’ll lose some key framing data when doing that, but it will tell you if you have a corrupt timeline or a corrupt media.)
As always, first try to trash your prefs using https://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/

have you tried to duplicate the project?
or make a copy and open on another system? -
What version are you on? I had a problem with 10.0.4 and was fixed with 10.0.5
