I’m relatively new to Cinema 4D and was searching for books and materials to learn how to get the most out of Cinema 4D. Not trying to offend anyone, but NONE of the books on Cinema 4D are good, not a single one. Errors and poor communication skills found in these books left me looking for alternate learning sources.

I came across Lynda.com online tutorials, watched a few samples for Cinema 4D and immediately subscribed. The Cinema 4D tutorial is 9 hours (by Ian Robinson) but it is such a good/efficient way to learn animation and modeling. With Cinema 4D being such a “visual” product it’s hard to express in words and pictures and hence why all the books seem to fail — the video tutorials were such a huge benefit to my learning process.

So for any new comers to Cinema 4D that have tried a book and gave up, check out Lynda.com. They have video tutorials on many of the applications I need/use (Logic Pro 9, Final Cut Studio, Motion 4, Cinema 4D, Adobe Photoshop, etc. etc.)

The Cow might just wanna think about bring Lynda.com onboard as an advertiser.

You might also check out Cineversity.com It’s a subscription service but there’s a lot of free material available to anyone who registers (registration is free). There’s a ridiculous amount of content for subscribers.
