  • One precomposition fails to render (After Effects CS6)

So I’ve been working with a project, and one of the precompositions refuses to render for the ram preview, instead relying on some archaic version of it, no matter what I do. When I do a full render of the video or just view the video in the precomosition, it renders properly. Anyone had this bug, or know of a way to fix it?

EDIT: forgot to mention this is in CS6

Perhaps this problem related to the After Effects disk cache. Try clearing it:

    Ae CC/CC2014:
Edit > Purge > All Memory & Disk Cache

    Ae CS6:
Preferences > Media & Disk Cache > Empty Disk Cache

Also, if you are running Ae CS6, make sure you’ve installed all the CS6 updates. The persistent disk cache feature was new in CS6 and there were a good number of bug fixes in the CS6 point releases.
