I know this kind of thing is looked down on here, but it’s interesting to know that the old rumor about the next FCP (which was supposedly being announced NAB 2006 and of course wasn’t) is back again. Same story, new year.

[Sean ONeil] “Same story, new year.”

If they keep repeating it enough times, when FCP 6 really does come out and they can say “See, we were right!” Rumor sites are annoying if you ask me. When I see Apple stand up and show us Final Cut Pro 6, then I’ll know it’s here.

Yeah I mostly agree. But I have to admit, the idea that they were waiting until Leopard does kind of make of sense.

I am completely addicted to all Mac rumor sites. Every day and night I check them, hoping beyond hope that there will be some announcment about new mac pros, iwork, ilife, leopard, and of course a new macbook with fancy new technology that makes it so thin I can shave with it,

I NEED a new laptop, but this close to leopard, if I can just hold out a little…bit….longer….

    Hi
It was a no-brainer that FCP 6 at NAB 2006 wasn’t going to happen, with the Universal Binary transition in full swing.

Its a no-brainer that Apple’s Pro Software division could lose out in quite a big way when mid-year Adobe come out with an all-swinging all-linking Dynamic Link/Bridge integrated suite Premiere Pro return-to-the-Mac announcement – if Apple don’t have something correspondingly enticing on the visible horizon.

Of course the longer Apple take to *better* integrate Final Touch, eMagic, Shake and Proximity etc products into their core media-software lines the better off all us end users will be.
Although Logic Pro has been asset-stipped to create GarageBand and SoundTrack Pro, the core application is still undeveloped in any significant way, yet its been an Apple product since 2002.

So if we get goodies this NAB, then whey-eh!
If we don’t, well then next year we might get something even better, with Adobe’s provoking… 😉

But we’ve got this recent wonderful glut of useful FCP updates! 5.1.3 and 5.1.4 all within a week! Why would we ever need something better 🙂

The correct & real info will be posted on apple.com, so try looking there

From what I can tell, Apple did not update any CPU at MacWorld. It was an iPhone event with a little of this and that thrown in. For some time Apple has been updating their CPUs twice a year, I think they might be a little behind at this point.

I have a sense that by NAB the Moon and stars will align and we will get CPUs a new OS and some updated Pro Apps all in one glorious regurgitation. Can you imagine the fun we will all have trying to understand where our new issues (problems) are coming from. Is it the OS, the new CPU or the new Pro App? Is it one thing or is it all things. I guess I prefer one thing at a time, maybe Apple will undo my logic and do exactly that, one thing at a time.

I dunno. Apple.com’s rumors are pretty lame. Plus, they totally got the release date of Apple TV wrong, too. Matter of fact, they didn’t have anything on the iPhone till the day it was released. Weak.
