Client has brought me some old Avid files to edit in Premiere. I am running the latest Premiere Pro 2018 and the latest Mac operating system. I have the old QuickTime 7 Pro with the Avid codec loaded on my machine. I can play the file in QuickTime 7 no problem. It will not read it in either Premiere Pro or the Media Encoder to transcode the file. Any work arounds or am I stuck transcoding the file one by one to a readable codec through QuickTime 7? Anyone have experience with this? Does anyone have a link to the latest Avid codecs page? Thanks for any help!

You’ll need to install an earlier version of Premiere or Media Encoder. The latest version has its own encoder/decoder for Quicktime and it doesn’t read all 32 bit legacy codecs.
