    OK, what a day, huh?

Next big-big question? Can you use the camera as a monitoring device to an HDTV from a NLE timeline like Final Cut Pro? Cant find one single word about this.

    Luis, Jan, Noah?

Of course you see where I am going with this: in a very low budget environment, one wouldn’t need an HD card to monitor with. Not that there are not plenty of reasons to still have a Black Magic or Kona card, mind you.

The product page does list a component output on it.
Now, whether or not it will run the firewire signal through the camera in place of a deck, I’m not sure.

But, given everything else that this thing seems to do…I wouldn’t be suprised.

Seems to me that would be a big feature to talk about, saving a couple of thousand dollars in PCI cards and converters. And the Sony HDV cameras CAN’T do it. It’s kind of a major point for the budget minded.

According to earlier posts/links it has analog HD component outs which would have to be used for: A) live HD monitoring or feeding a deck; …B) playback of the storage cards or …C) firewire pass through to an HD monitor or deck or …D) all of the above. Although I suppose it is possible that not all of it’s formats qualify for some/any of these possibilities.
