  • Offset object clones position using Shear and Mograph

Hi, I’m making a recreation of that building:

The building must build itself, so for the windows I need tu use Mograph. I createad a basic box with Shear deformer and used a clone in objecto mode, aligning the clones to polygon center:

As you can see on the second picture, the vertical alignment of the clones is like a brickwall. I need that the clones get aligned like in the real tower. Is there any way to do that? And if it is, is it posible to mask the outside edges of the clones to avoid this stair like edge and make it straight?

I’d try a plane that’s as wide as the building side profile and then use the knife to cut the angle you need rather than sheer.

You could go into the Cloner’s transform tab and manually adjust the bank angle.

Or if you’re animating the shear you can probably use expresso to drive the bank angle with the shear object’s angle parameter.

Thans Adam. I tryed changing the banking, but the clones are alredy deformed by the shear so they are like diamonds and dont align well. What I have done is use Grid Array from Object surface and passed a sheared mesh to it

It’s a very interesting way to do it, especially to integrate it with Xpresso and python, what is my final objective. Thanks Emir!
