  • Offset cached animation in time?

Posted by Simon Smith on October 27, 2017 at 1:47 pm

    Hi all,
baked a mograph cloner / dynamics animation into a cache tag.
Need to shift it in time – tried nitrobake which bakes my thousand clones to keyframes but trying to drag the keyframes in the timeline is sticky / impossible.
I want to keep it as a cache tag (not to keyframes) but simply to offset when the animation starts.
Found a post about offsetting time in the cache tag but can’t see that in the cache tag dialogs (in R15, at least).

Anyone come across a way to do this?

    thanks!

you can offset when you bake with the MoGraph Cache Tag rather than using the Cache inside the dynamics tag – it doesn’t automatically disable the dynamics like the dynamics tag cache does so you have to bake with the Mograph Cache Tag then turn Dynamic off in the dynamics tag – you won’t notice the difference until you set the Offset

    Hi,
thanks a lot for that, forgot about it being a tag. Very useful indeed.
