    Hey Everyone,

I’m wondering if someone could write me up a quick workflow on going from a pro res 422 sequence and onlining it to pro res 4444.

I understand going to media manager then marking a sequence offline, but am I going to have find every clip manually to reconnect later or is there a better (automated) way of doing things.

    Thanks for your time.

No manual relinking. Just MAKE OFFLINE in Media Manager, then recapture from tape, or reimport from tapeless. Here’s the tapeless way:

But…what do you hope to gain by going from ProRes 422 to 4444? You will see zero quality gain…but nearly double the file sizes. What is your original footage?

    Thanks for responding so quickly.

I’m working with the red. Maybe 4444 was the wrong though process. Is there an easy workflow to relink back to the 4k footage in order to export an uncompressed tiff image sequence?

OH…RED. Well now, that’s another story altogether. There are different workflows for that…more than a few. I wish I could say WHAT they were, but seeing as I only did one RED project…a WEB VIDEO (lordy, shot on a RED), I stayed in FCP and stuck with ProRes 422.

How are you going to online this? Color? Send out? There are many steps to take but people need to know how you intend to finish it so they can give you the PROPER workflow advice.
