hello. i am switching over to ppro 5.5 from fcp7 in the coming weeks. i am excited to edit with various formats natively, but when i am editing off site on a macbook, i need smaller file sizes and i need to be able to export multiple sequences quickly and compress them for postings. so far everything takes forever. i need to find a good, stable offline hd codec (i have been using prores proxy in fcp), so that i can export “same as sequence settings” a la fcp7, which will hopefully work as quickly as it has been for me in fcp7. or is there another good workflow?

There isn’t an internal codec for Premiere Pro. Probably your best bet will be cineform (which you’ll have to pay for; decoder is free.)

Which is the reason you’re doing this – the smaller file (makes sense) or the export? The Export size, using previews will accelerate the export (if you’ve rendered) – but at the cost of quality.
