off topic – SATA host card for MAC Laptop
is anyone aware of a PCMCIA SATA host controller card that can work in a MAC Laptop. I have recently used the Serious Magic DV Rack to record DV25 material for FCP, and I see no reason not to bring a full (semi portable) FCP system on a laptop in the field to record onto SATA drives at much higher resolution than DV25. I know that I could use FW800, but I was wondering if anyone was aware of a SATA controller for a LAPTOP (PCMCIA).
The usual Firmtek, Sonnet, Highpoint, etc. appear to not make one. I can’t tell if the SATA PCMCIA cards that are out there on the web are MAC compatible.Thanks –

Thanks Jerry, but as you can see on the last line of “requirements”, it states the PC requirements with the different versions of Microsoft OS that it works with. I would hate to start randomly ordering $79 SATA PCMCIA cards, only to have to send them all back. It would be nice to find one that simply even suggested “Mac compatible”.
