I’ve notice on several car commercials, they’ll have thing just pop out of nowhere,(ie. a curtain that just appears in mid air and drops down) what i’m trying to accomplish it to have a track of a room…got that. with speakers appearing in the corners. How do i make them build themselves, like from the sides back to front and have the speaker pop in. I know how to make the speakers, I just want them to “grow” within a live action shot

Use the visible in render option to make the part invisible until what ever frame and to make them grow. you can key frame the size using the scale tool. If you want different parts to com in at different times seperate them into groups of objects rather then just one.

With simple speaker box and stuff PLA (point level animation) can be used really easy for that.
As for speakers you need to build them with several pieces and animate them in at different times most likely using the scale tool.
I would suggest placing your geometry in a Null before scaling anything so you can always revert back easly.

yeah, i just figured out the scaling part.I just have to make my models more complex to get the look that i want, and take a day to finally learn boujou 3.

Is there a way to animate the “edge” of a polygon.. I have made my speaker, I have busted it up into 6 part (top, bottom, left….) and have made them editable. when using the edge tool, is there a way to animate the Position Y axis. I can see that it’s moving in my coordinates browser but not in my object coordinates. How would this be accomplished?

You have to turn on PLA. Its the button under your timeline with all the dots.

edit/ I made a speaker last year that grew into the picture too. I scaled the box in four pieces but first I had made the speaker with a spline and circle in a sweep nurbs.. Then I animated the growth of the sweep nurbs so it was full size to start but it rotated into the pic…I couldnt find the animation but here is a still of the final speaker.
