I am trying to do a simple Object VR in Cinema 4d.
The problem is When you do a VR using the built in QuickTime VR Object render settings, the light moves with your object. (like the light was attached to the object somehow)
This doesn’t work, because an object VR is like picking up an object and holding it and moving the object around looking at it from different angles. (the light would stay put and the object would be turning).

Am I missing something, maybe a setting somewhere?

sounds like you don’t have a light object in your scene. If that’s true you’re using the default light and that does follow the camera.

What you described with the default lighting is what I want with real lights.

If I DON’T put a light in the scene (the default lighting takes over), the object VR works correctly because that light DOES stay with the camera, the way that it should. (again, it’s like you are holding up an object and examining it in the light)

If you put a light object into the scene (or multiple, which is preferable anyway) they all get moved with the VR, which, like I posted earlier, isn’t right.

Try it, you will see. (unless I’m missing something!?)

Ahh I understand your first post now (I think) holding it as opposed to walking around it.
If you want lights to follow your camera make them a child of the camera – assuming you are using a camera object and not the Editor Camera.

    Thanks,

    That works.

Putting a camera in the scene and making the lights a child.
