I am switching to Davinchi 12.5 Studio and will upgrade to 14 when out. Im going to go through the learning process, but I am also preparing my system.
So should I get an AMD card or Nvidia with Cuda? I have not been able to find Spec’s that say which is best, just it will run with either.

Speaking only for me, personal opinion, I’m so pissed-off at the bad AMD chips in the 2013 MacPros, I’ll never buy anything from AMD again. It’s NVidia all the way.

Wow even the 2013 Mac Pros have GPU issues.

Bloody near every MacBook Pro and iMac with ATI/AMD GPU’s had issues, so I see AMD has continued there trend of producing crap. Even before AMD bought ATI I saw tons of Video Card failures not only that but AMD CPU fan failures were way to common and caused tons of grief.

I chuckled when AMD bought ATI because I though they’d be a perfect match.
Both had no idea how to implement good fans and ATI Cards had high failure rates because of bad solder pads.
I actually was pretty good with a heat gun at one point fixing ATI Cards for other people.

    NVIDIA +100

well macbook pro 2017 even has bigger problems with the GPU.
It gets completely shot down after less then a minute of load.
Performance will break down to 10%
I put my frustration and some workarounds here:

I primarily run Macs but man for the price one pays for there products they really need to fix these constant “Video Issues”.

I’m at the point where a Hackintosh is looking like a good option because of the garbage that they’ve been flooding the market with. How long before the iMac Pro starts having GPU and overall heat issues. They’re quickly losing me as a loyal customer.
