Looking at the Gridiron’s web page it seems Adobe has taken Nucleo (regular version NOT Pro ) and included it in AE CS3. IS there anyone that can confirm/deny this ? Also how many cores can Nucleo ( and AE CS3) max out ? I’m looking to buy 8 core machine (2xquad core) with AT LEAST 8gb. Since i’m newbie i work very inefficiently and Ram previews are killing me at the moment on my old machine.

    Thanks and take care

Nucleo standard is NOT included in AE CS3. Adobe has added features to AE CS3 that are identical to our Nucleo fast render and fast preview.

We put that comparison chart up on our site as a reference to make sure that it was clear that Nucleo Pro is NOT included in AE CS3. We also put it there to show off the features we have added to the just announced Nucleo Pro 2.0 – https://www.gridironsoftware.com/NucleoPro2/

I can’t speak for Adobe’s method, but Nucleo and Nucleo Pro will see up to 16 CPU and use 32GB of RAM on a 64bit OS. Since what Adobe did in AE CS3 is identical, I don’t see why it should be any different.

Thanks for reply. I knew Pro was not included which is kind of bummer 🙂

Anyway i tried to find some benchmarks on your site using Nucleo and 8 core machine and didnt find anything. I’d like to see how much improvement there is over Quad. I know it’s impossible to expect double speed since other factors play big role and may be bottleneck. Google didnt turn up anything either. Can anyone with Nucleo try to run test on 4 cores and 8 cores ?

Again thanks and take care ,

    Hi Steve,

Is Lightwave supported by the new Nucleo Pro2 3D render queue? And just to clarify – does Nucleo speed up 3D renders at all as a result?

Last thing (promise!) – Will Nucleo Pro2 add any more speed/performance on TOP on AE CS3’s new multicore support? Or is it mainly the workflow advantages of NP that will be the draw, rather than added horsepower?

    Thanks.
