I’m a newby to this group and relatively new to Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. My DVDs are in NTSC format but I need to burn a PAL format DVD for a friend in England. Is this procedure correct —

    1. Open a new project, specifying the PAL format.
    2. Import the previously saved (NTSC) avi file to the timeline.
    3. Render the timeline in the PAL environment.
    4. Save the movie as an avi.
    5. Burn the DVD from the avi.

Also, is the DVD-R disc format a good choice for use in England?

Thanks for any and all help.

In my experience, NTSC discs playback fine on PAL players, but not vice-versa. But, its better to be safe than sorry.

A few people have tried that procedure with acceptable results, so definitely give it a shot.

I use Canopus Procoder to do the conversion and IMO it creates a better output.
