Hello guys, I read some posts about converting pal to ntsc, but not sure if this actually make right and with good quality.

    What I have:
A 30 minutes NTSC quictime clip:
2 FCP systems with AJA Kona 3 cards
    A PAL Digibeta recorder (rented)

    What I need:
A final Digibeta PAL of the clip

    Option 1:
-Setup FCP and Kona Card as a PAL system 625i25
    – Drag NTSC quicktime into PAL sequence
    – Render
    – Playback to Digi PAL
I’ll check my monitors looks fine on PAL, but the quiestion is ?

Is this realy PAL Standar, or I’m only monitoring..

Option 2.. Go to the Ternanex …(but I’m just trying to help my client to save some money) 🙁

Any direction is more than welcome

    Thanks

    JC

No, this is a crappy FCP Render you’re monitoring. FCP itself cannot perform a standards conversion. Some say Compressor does a good job but we never use it. We use the Nattress Standards Converter for shot conversion, but not an entire show.

We send our material off to a Terranex conversion.
