[David Ambuel] ” are there any advantages / disadvantages in choosing between 1) rendering the entire project in a single file and 2) rendering in sections and piecing them together in dvd architect?”
Yes, they are different. If you want the ability to add chapters so that the customer can move back and forth between chapters, you must have 1 file. If you use multiple files, chapters will jump forward across file boundaries, but not backward. This means your customers will never be able to navigate back a chapter past the beginning of the current file.
Also, it takes some time for the DVD player to “seek” to the next file so playback will not be as smooth with multiple files as it will with one large file.
It is definitely more advantageous to render one large file. You can always set in and out points in DVD Architect to only play sections of the file later.
