    [John Perez] “Please help!”

Come on John, you’ve been here years, you know what we need to help you, more info….. Without this we’d be punching in the dark. Once we can see no “obvious” brakes on your rendering, then we can go with a deeper analysis.

However, be assured, I can render well with all sorts of FXing and combos.

Well, you’ve got my Computer information. This is what happens: I choose my render space on the timeline; go to Render As, then it freezes. That’s it. The blue circle goes round and round finally getting the “stopped working” menu. In other words I never get to the formats/codes menu. I don’t even make it that far. I’m running V13. And I’ve tried all the solutions I can find on the internet. Anymore info from me? Thanks

.MOV’s from Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera. But the problem is not with the nature of the footage. I created a new instance, loaded a simple generated media and tried to render that and it still had the same problem. I think it’s got to be a hardware issue.

    What OS are you using?

Have you had any recent updates to the OS or GPU?

    Have you disabled the GPU?

Have you tried a program reset and deleted the cached application data?

If on Win7, when it locks up, have you tried, Shift+Alt+Del, click on Start Task Manager, when the Task Manager window appears close it. This may unlock the program.

Wow, George those are great questions. Let me work to get the answers back to you. (I have disabled the GPU acceleration suggested by a You Tuber. I wanted to switch GPU back to my NVIDIA card and that option wasn’t there. I’m running Win 10, last updated in 2015?)

    George,

I’m running Win10. I tried all your suggestions to no avail: Installed new drivers for NVIDIA GPU, reset program with cache clean, and started Task manager then closed it to no effect. Well guys, I’m at the end of my rope, here. (And to think today held so much promise. NOT. Maybe my computer guy will figure it out…)

Now the application freezes at start. Doesn’t even open up!
