Not sure what’s the best way to create an animated mask
I want to film video through a football helmet but want to be able to mask out the area between the facemask to play other video. I’ve seen Aharon Rabinowitz’s tut on corner pinning w/Mocha which is pretty much what I want to do but the problem is the area I want to set a matte against is not on a plane and the top part of the helmet is not visible in the footage. I’m thinking of manually creating it frame by frame but was wondering if there was an easier way to do it?

Can you shoot through the helmet/face-mask with a green screen in the background (what’s out there), then just key out the green and you can put whatever video you want on the other side?
Or mask off the face-mask in a still even, making it larger than your final comp so you can move it around a bit (with a wiggle expression or manually). Seems like that should be good.
If these don’t sound good maybe you can post a sample pic of the facemask so we can see exactly what you’re up against.
