Not seeing MXF files
Posted by Jeff Markgraf on May 12, 2015 at 7:55 pmHello Cows. Bit of an emergency here…
Did a clean install of Yosemite on my MacBook Pro Retina last week. Reloaded X, Compressor, etc. Wanted to import some MXF files today. No joy – just a green screen. Huh? I can see other media just fine. The MXF files I’m trying to import are files I’ve used as recently as a few weeks ago.
What am I missing?

May 12, 2015 at 8:42 pmApp store says I’m up to date. Do’t know if there’s a way to force it to let me re-download the update. Though I presume it would be a part of the current 10.2 download already?

May 12, 2015 at 8:43 pmIt’s a separate update: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1396?locale=en_US
I just did a full reinstall last week and it had to update.

May 12, 2015 at 8:50 pm[Kathy Murphy] “I read yesterday that the latest upgrade does not support panasonic.
“The MXF reader supports op1a, not op-atom, at this time. Op-Atom gets rewrapped to .mov with audio and video joined.

May 12, 2015 at 9:08 pmI reread your first post. This is a new library.
What camera shot the mxf files?

May 12, 2015 at 9:25 pmThey are pull reels of avid media wrapped in a .mov extension. I’ve used these reels in several projects. I,veg also used raw avid McFadden files pulled directly from the Isis partitions.
Maybe I need to install avid codecs? I didn’t recall doing that before, but maybe that’s the problem.
