I just noticed this problem today. The file browser, library and inspector panes are gone and cannot be opened via the Window menu or the buttons.

Additionally, when I open Motion, no other windows appear. Even if I selected a template to start with, it does not open, unless I go back and re-select it from the list.

I was working with Motion all day today and yesterday with no problem. Then the next time I accessed the program, no windows (as described above).

I am running a MacPro, Leopard, and Motion 3.0.2. I ran Disk Utility and repaired permissions. No change with Motion.

Has anyone else found a reason/solution for this problem?

    Thanks.

    Trashing the prefs fixed it.
Here’s another post about the problem on apple board.

    Thank you.

Trashing the prefs fixed it for my Mac Pro machine, too.

For anyone else who runs into this problem, the file to trash is:

    com.apple.motion.plist

    in

    Users//Library/Preferences folder.

This may not work for everyone, but I’d recommend trying it if Motion won’t open some windows.

    Thanks Ann.
Had the problem on startup today. Did a cow search, found your post,
did as you said, fixed it.

    Have a great day.

It should be easy to spot of you do this:

    Go to your Macintosh HD,

    open Users

    open Library

scroll down till you see the file: com.apple.motion.plist

You might also just do a search for the file.

Then again, if you’re not the Admin on your laptop, perhaps you can’t see this file? Hm.

Try the above, and let us know if you find the file.
