    Hello all,

I just received a new MacBook Pro, replacing a damaged 17 inch Macbook Pro. During the set up of the new computer I migrated all of my applications and files from the old MBP. Everything seems to be fine- however Final Cut is not connecting to the Additional Easy Setups folder which contains all of the ProRes setups.

Any advice on how I can get things working properly?

    Your help is appreciated.

It’s not a good idea to try to migrate pro apps. It’s best to do a clean install.

    John,

So, do I just install on top of the applications I migrated or should I uninstall Final Cut and than install the original version and the upgrade version?

Use FCP remover to remove, then install the upgrade. No reason to install the previous version, although you will need the serial number from it.

I followed your advice and used FCS remover and then did a new install from the upgrade disks. The ProRes options still do not appear in my Easy Setups however if I scroll down to Audio and VIdeo Settings the ProRes options are there.

[Jim Carswell] “The ProRes options still do not appear in my Easy Setups”

Do you have a capture card? There are no ProRes easy setups that come with FCP, except the HDV to ProRes firewire.
