Noob question here, how to create another edge from an exisiting edge
So I have an edge loop i’d like to make a copy of an move down the object I have.
Is there a simple way to copy an edge, or an edge loop, to then use the slide tool to move to another location?

The best way to do that is probably to use the knife tool in loop mode. You can also select the loop and use the bevel tool. As far as sliding, unfortunately the built-in slide tool can only handle one edge at a time, but there is a free plugin (Kiyamaslide) that works with edge selections.
