Non Drop Frame
When I import a quicktime sequence without a timecode track into catDV it defaults to drop frame time code. Is there a way to change it to default to Non Drop?

There isn’t no. If CatDV encounters a 29.97 fps movie it will assume drop frame timecode so the wall clock duration of the movie is displayed correctly. If you want to change it to non drop you’d have to do so via the Tools > Change Time Base command.
