    Dear Creative Cow,

I have a Voice Over track that was recorded at a low level and when I raise the levels high enough for the overall mix there is a lot of noise. I am wondering if there is a filter in FCP that can help with this? Urgently seeking help…

Please find a sample of my audio attached.

    With many thanks,

    Megan

there are many things to try….you can use ‘normalization’ under Modify/Audio. Try it…if it doesn’t sound better, Command Z to reverse. You might try adjusting audio as high as you can before it starts to sound bad…then open more audio tracks and copy the audio on different tracks. You can also apply some of the FCP or Apple audio filters in the filters tab. Good luck!
