Using Apogee Duet Firewire with Media Composer 6.0.0 on a MacPro with 10.7.5.
Getting static/noise during playback. I tried updating the Duet, but still have noise. Any ideas? THANK YOU.

No noise when using other programs like iTunes. Also no noise when booting from another partition and using Avid Pro Tools — OS 10.6.8, Pro Tools 10.0.0.

I would update to the latest patch for MC if you are really on 6.0.0. I know Symphony, which the same code base, improved significantly betweeon 6.0 and 6.0.2 .

Strange issue. You talk to Apogee?

    Good Luck,
    Robert

I upgraded to 6.0.3 but still have the issue.
I emailed Apogee and am waiting for a response.
I read an old post about Avid and audio hardware that did not give a solution but mentioned an issue with Avid and anything connected to the same Firewire bus…

Found a “fix!” In Preferences>Audio, I reduced the “Play Buffer Size in Samples” and the “Tool Buffer Size in Samples.” Audio now played back clean. Interestingly, when I increased these values back to the original settings (2048), the audio was still clean. And I have restarted Media Composer a few times, and audio through the Duet sounds fine, even with original audio settings. BUG!
