No XDCam on Import menu
I downloaded Media Composer 3.5 software only trial version. (It says it’s a full version for 14 days)
I wanted to test XDCam HD import. When attaching the camera I automatically get a new bin with the clips from the disk in the camera, but as per the Avid manual I go to Settings/import and have no options for XDCam.
Can anyone help??

Hi,
This menu is gone as long as AMA access is enabled. After AMA is disabled the application need to be restarted and back is the option.
AMA is great to view the media before importing to your drives, choose what you want and consolidate. No real need for proxys anymore with the bad audio.Cheers

I like to copy by files to my local drives in the same manner I would archive – for example:
Top Folder: Dailies_0900307
Mext Folder: Card_001Inside this is the folder copied from the SxS card. Using AMA. I link to the top directory (Dailies_090307), the bin name is created from the subfolder. I just edit from those directly.
