    I dont remember FCP being like this, but its been a little while since Ive used FCP, been doing features which is all Avid at the moment. Has it always been that you cant do a ripple delete or a delete if there is a dissolve at the end of the clip? Quite annoying if this is the case, maybe Im missing something….any insight would be appreciated….thks.

    Yeah, you’re right. The best thing to do is cut the dissolve (select it and command-x) then do the ripple, select the new cut point and paste.

    Thks, is this new in 6? I dont remember this limita…..I mean feature…;)

    I don’t think so, FCP is always weird about dissolves. It doesn’t want to let go of them very easy when editing.

    Always been this way. And you can’t overwrite a clip with another if there is a dissolve. A feature that is also in avid, and darn cool.
