    Hello
This is probably very simple but I cannot figure it out. I connected a samson mic to my computer to record some dialog. The computer is sealed off and there was no sound in the room.

I speak clearly into the mic but when I play it back you can barely hear the audio. Its the same problem in both sound forge and audition.

    Any suggestions and thank you.

It sounds like you’re plugged into a line level input instead of a mic level input. It’s possible you can switch the input to mic level in your computer audio settings. What kind of computer are you using? If you only have a line input, you’ll need a preamp. You plug your mic to the preamp input and the preamp out to the computer.

HOW did you connect the mic to the computer? Do you know that the mic works? Do you know that the computer input works?

I can’t see what the computer being sealed off or sound in the room has to do with this question?
