no video signal
hello guys
I’m using FCP studio pro 1 and hooked up to a sony HDV player, I’ve worked before like this and had no problem but now that I’m starting work on a new project, new computer (G5 Pro just got installed)when I try to log and capture i see audio signal coming to the system , but no video signal and the sound is coming out the internal speaker instead of the desk/external speakers. and i can’t seem to figure what the problem is!!
once again, there is TC running in the capture window, there is sound on the meters but no signal!am i missing anything?

The proper HDV easy setup?
Your deck is in dv mode?

the tapes are shot HDV but the player is working in down convert and the easy set up is set to DV NTSC. I’ve worked like this before and there was no problem
any suggestions? -
you have something setup improperly.
Take the tape out of the deck, reset all the controls, then try again.
What deck, what kind of tape?

I have the same problem, but using a Canon ZR25. It works fine on one system, but I have the same problem on two others. They all seem to have the same settings I think it has to be a codec problem or something. I just posted above, I’ll let you know if I get any feedback

o.k guys, we solved it, and it’s really a stupid thing
when I hit the play in the deck and then lunch the FCP i get a signal to the FCP, other wise whatever i do wouldn’t work
isn’t that silly ?
