September 24, 2009 at 8:43 pmSame problem here!
Late 2007 2 x 3.0 GHz Quad Core- 9 Gigs Ram Running 10.5.7, Decklink HD. I am wondering if Apple is working on the problem or if we are stuck with this?! I also tried to talk to apple support but they didn´t get it. They told me that I need the nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB?!
Is anybody running the nVidia GeForce 8800 GT 512MB with success? This was an upgrade option some days ago.zwockel>>

September 24, 2009 at 9:10 pmHi Stefan. I’ve already solved the problem by updating my graphic card. I have installed ATI Radeon XT1900 and everything runs fine. Hope this will help you.

September 25, 2009 at 12:02 amHi guys,
There seems to be a pattern here with the Nvidia 7300 and we’ve notified Apple about this. I’ll update this thread if there’s any more information.

December 3, 2009 at 6:57 amAdd me to the list. Same problem with no video out using Color 1.5. I am using BlackMagic DeckLink HD Extreme. Worked fine until the FCS3 upgrade. I have the latest DeckLink software installed. This little problem is really backing up my edit log. Any resolution found by anyone?

December 3, 2009 at 9:49 amYes, I bought myself a new Graphic card, the Nvidia Gforce 8800 GT (Upgrade Kit) and the problem was gone. I payed about 250$ for a Graphic card I never would have needed?!
It´s a shame, that there is no support or help from apple or anybody else. This is why I prefer Avid (for editing only of course). The support is just great. -

December 4, 2009 at 7:02 pmStefan, et. al.,
I just spent over an hour online with Apple Support regarding this issue. I went through all the obligatory “tests”. The resulting conclusion by Apple: It is a driver problem with the DeckLink product and I should call them (which I did first, by the way). Never mind that the problem exists regardless of whether it,s DeckLink, Kona, etc., or all the posts from users in Apple’s own form with the same problem / different I/O device, or the fact that everything worked perfectly until upgrading to Color 1.5. The tech would see no other option other than the DeckLink driver option. Furthermore, the Apple tech would not suggest a card to use that Apple would support. They only support the cards installed in the machine at purchase…which doesn’t work…and they say isn’t the problem. Purchasing a new graphics cards for my edit stations seem to be the only (expensive) answer according to the good folks on these forums, but then I have a system configuration that will not be supported by Apple (I am in the apple care program) according to the tech. The general public can not purchase the graphics cards currently being installed by Apple. I think it’s the GT200 series. I am very frustrated with Apple right now. How does one get past the online tech to talk to someone with at least a partially open mind?Bill Wilson

December 4, 2009 at 8:12 pmI feel your pain. However, you know you can always switch back to the original card if you dealing with Applecare. The scary thing for me was, OK, the new card fixes the problem with Color, but what new problems does it create? For me, so far, none. I feel better knowing I can always go back to the 7300 if I have to.
