No video monitoring in MacBookPro – Leopard
For years I’ve used cheap camcorders (JVC GR-D30u and Sony ZR85) for video previewing in offline editing. I was using a G4 MDD and Final Cut HD 4.5 on Jaguar with no problems.
Now I have a 2.6MHZ MacBookPro with Leopard (10.5.2) and Final Cut Pro 6.0.3 and cannot do something as simple as previewing video on a TV through any of this miniDV cameras.
I’m using the traditional setup. Computer>>Firewire>>Camcorder>>A/V cable>>TV
Everything is OK if I connect only the camcorder to the computer with the firewire cable. I can capture and play external video to camcorder’s lcd. But as soon as I connect the A/V cable to the TV set, the MacBookPro disconects from the camcorder as if I had turn it off. The same happens in Final Cut and imovie.
To sum up. I can use the camcorders with no problem if I don’t connect it to a TV set. Its not camcorder problembecause I used the same settings and configuration with no problems with my old G4 MDD.
Anyone has any clue ?
Is this a software or hardware problem ?PLEASE HELP !!!
Thankyou for any advice
