no video monitor during playback
Hi all. I have a Kona LHi-RO in my MacPro with FCP 6.0.6. I am editing an XDCam EX sequence and monitoring HD through the SDI port and also SD through downconversion on the composite port. The issue is this: monitoring is fine through scrubbing, trimming, etc. but when I actually play the sequence the video (on the monitor, not in FCP) freezes and holds the frame that the playhead started on. When I stop playback the monitor is updated to the “correct” frame. I have not knowingly changed any settings since when this was working properly. Thanks for any help.

Reset your HD easy setup in FCP and make sure your composite output is set to secondary/525i in the Kona control panel.

Thanks Jeremy. You were right – I had a mismatch in the settings. I forgot that some of the material was 720p and the outputs were set for 1080i.
